The updated battery homologation lists for the EFRA 2026 calendar are now available. These are the first lists available for the 2026 season; more homologation lists will be available in the near future on the EFRA.ws in the Rules and Regulations section.
Updates to the lists will be added as and when they are finalised. Please share this information with your fellow racers, team managers and race organisers.
Lithium based (LiPo) batteries detailed below, are approved for various EFRA Electric Classes. Section Rules will detail the type applicable.
Availability dates for new EFRA compliant Packs are not known at the date of publishing this list. Manufacturers have confirmed March 2026 latest.
EFRA rules limit battery energy capacity to comply with Airline Requirements (currently 100Wh.), based on Manufacturers data below.
It is strictly NOT ALLOWED, to charge 2S LiPo Batteries to give an output voltage exceeding 8.40v.
BATTERIES BELOW ARE APPROVED BY EFRA FOR 2026, BUT NOT ALLOWED AT EFRA 2026 EVENTS UNTIL 01.04.26.
EFRA: MAXIMUM dimensions for Battery Case size:- Length = 139.0 mm. Width = 47.0 mm. Height = 25.1 mm. (No + tolerance allowed)
Batteries approved from 2011 onwards must comply with the weight range specified. Batteries factory sealed (glue, weld etc.).
Battery packs must be able to be disconnected within the Car quickly without the use of tools. Direct soldering is not allowed.
Manufacturers advise that charge rate be restricted to 1C for optimum lifspan, but should not be more than stated below (for 2017 on).
Batteries MUST be charged using a 2S LiPo compatible charger. LiPo 'Sack' must be used when charging or discharging prior to race
